1. Will an aftermarket exhaust void my Audi’s factory warranty?
In Australia, fitting a cat-back exhaust typically does not void your entire vehicle warranty. However, a downpipe (which involves the catalytic converter) may affect the engine and emissions portion of your warranty. We recommend checking with your dealer, though many enthusiasts choose these systems for vehicles already out of their initial warranty period.
2. What is the benefit of the XForce Varex system for an Audi?
Audi S and RS models are known for being sophisticated daily drivers. The Varex system allows you to maintain that "luxury" quietness for the morning commute while having the ability to open the valves for a deep, sporty roar during spirited driving—giving you two exhaust characters in one vehicle.
3. Do these systems cause a "Check Engine" light?
Cat-back systems will not trigger a CEL. However, installing a high-flow downpipe increases exhaust flow significantly, which can sometimes trigger an efficiency code on the factory ECU. This is usually resolved with a Stage 2 ECU remap, which is recommended to get the full power benefit of the downpipe.
4. Can I install these systems myself?
While many of our Audi cat-back systems are "bolt-on" and can be installed by a competent DIYer with jack stands, we highly recommend professional installation. Audis have tight tolerances and complex hangers; a professional exhaust shop can ensure perfect tip alignment and leak-free joins.
