1. How do I know if my exhaust hangers need replacing?
Common signs of failed hangers include a visible "sag" in the tailpipe, excessive rattling against the chassis when idling, or a "thudding" sound when driving over bumps. Visually, you should look for cracks, dry rot, or stretching in the rubber material.
2. Should I choose rubber or polyurethane hangers?
Rubber hangers are excellent for daily drivers as they absorb more vibration, keeping the cabin quiet. Polyurethane hangers are much stiffer and more durable; they are preferred for performance cars or lowered vehicles where you want to prevent the exhaust from moving and hitting the body or the road.
3. Are these hangers universal?
Many of our products, like the Zetti universal rubbers, are designed to fit a wide range of mounting pins. However, we also stock vehicle-specific hangers for models like the Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger to ensure the exhaust sits at the precise factory height and alignment.
4. How many hangers does a typical exhaust system use?
Most standard systems use between 3 and 5 hangers. There is usually one near the transmission/catalytic converter, one or two in the middle section, and one or two supporting the rear muffler. We recommend replacing all hangers at once to ensure even support across the entire system.
